“I just left. I’m going to grab us something to eat and then I’ll be home.”
Joy smiled as she mentioned the word home. Even after all the time that she and Logic had been together, it still felt weird to Joy that Logic was home to her. Weird but right. It was comfortable, but still odd at times. She was so caught up in her conversation that she didn't realize Rah was following her. She wouldn't have anyway, because she didn't pay attention to things like that.
“Good, hurry up. I miss you, damn. You just left me hanging. I woke up and you were gone.”
Joy grinned, thinking about the fact that she’d chosen not to wake Logic from his nap. Over the last week, he had been working so hard, in late and up early. She heard conversations that he had with Gotti about how business was picking up, so the two of them were on the block literally all day and night. Most of the information she had about what was going on with Logic in the streets, she found out from Najah. Logic didn't really discuss that part of his life with her, but she didn't care. Joy knew where he was, and as long as he came home to her every night, then it didn't matter to her one way or the other.
“You were tired and you knew I had plans with Karma, so there was no point in waking you.”
He laughed. “Yeah, aight, you just didn't want me to be up in your shit before you left, that's all. You ain't slick, but I got you when you get here.”
Now Joy laughed. “It didn't have anything to do with that, I just knew you were tired.” Joy partially lied.
Logic had been on a mission lately. He couldn't keep his hands off her, which she knew was about him trying to get her pregnant. The two of them had searched and saved several houses that they wanted to look at, but because Logic had been so busy lately, they hadn't gotten a chance to go see any of them. But he made it clear that he wanted a baby to go along with the house that he was buying.
Joy pulled into the parking lot of her favorite soul food place and parked, with Rah right behind her. She shut off her car and reached for her purse, still having no clue that he had been following her.
“Just hurry up. I’m hungry, and I damn sure ain't talking about that food you’re about to order.” Logic's confession made Joy blush as she unlocked her door to get out, but the second she did, she instantly regretted it.
“Hey, baby. Damn, I missed you.” Rah's voice made the hair on her neck stand up.
“Who the fuck is that?” Logic yelled so loud through the phone that Joy knew for sure Rah heard it.
The grin on his face as he peered down at her and snatched her phone from her hands was confirmation.
